He has to leave all his friends and the beautiful house in Berlin to go to a desolate area with no one to play with and no one to talk to for a couple of weeks. With nothing to do, Bruno decides to bring some of the House in Berlin to Out-With by exploring like he used to. Since this new house doesn’t have many floors, there isn’t much exploring he can do so he decides to explore at the Out Of Bounds At All Times And No Exceptions places. He keeps walking in the woods and after about a hour of it, he reaches upon the fence which separates Bruno from all the “camp side” as Bruno would call it. There, he sees a boy in striped pajamas named Shmuel and decides to introduce himself. They soon find out that they have the same birthday and that Shmuel is Jewish and that Their not suppost to be friends because Bruno is German. After becoming fast friends with Shmuel, Bruno returns to Shmuel as often as possible. One day Bruno came and saw Shmuel crying because he can’t find his father. Bruno offers to help Shmuel by digging a whole under the fence and crossing over to Shmuel’s side of the fence. Bruno runs of to Shmuel on the day he was supposed to return home. Shmuel hands Bruno a pair of striped pajamas so he can blend in more. They first go to Shmuel’s cabin to look for Shmuel’s father. Soon enough they get cornered and were forced to march in the rain to another cabin. Back in Out-With Bruno’s family is looking for Bruno everywhere, still thinking he’s in the House.  In the cabin the soldiers make and the prisoner including Bruno take their clothes off and enter a really small room. Little did they know that they were entering a fire chamber? By the time Bruno’s family found him, he was gone.
